A guide to the Vitess ecosystem

Vitess is developed in the open. Here are some of the channels we use to communicate and contribute:

Please do not ask individual project members for support. Use the channels above instead, where the whole community can help you and benefit from the solutions provided. If community support is insufficient for your situation, please refer to the Commercial Support section below.

Contributing

We welcome your contribution to Vitess, whether they be documentation, a bug fix or new feature. For more information, see the contributing guide.

Monthly Meetings

On the third Thursday of the month (unless otherwise specified), the Vitess community holds a monthly meeting by video conference to discuss the state of Vitess. New features will be previewed or discussed, and everyone regardless of location and familiarity with Vitess is welcome to join.

Project Governance

Vitess is an independent open-source project and not controlled by any single company. To emphasize this we joined the Cloud Native Computing Foundation in 2018.

Within the project, we make decisions based on these rules.

To make Vitess a welcoming and harassment-free experience for everyone, we follow the CNCF Code of Conduct.

Acknowledgements

Vitess was born at YouTube in 2010, and joined the CNCF in February 2018 as an incubation project.
